Ranch Camp, Stowe Vermont’s mountain bike baselodge, is looking to hire a full time, bicycle mechanic. Not only is Ranch Camp a full service bike shop, catering to all ends of the mountain bike spectrum, we’re also a fast casual bar and restaurant focusing on healthy, handmade food and artisanal libations. This is not your average bike shop job; we are as much a family as we are coworkers so a community-oriented, positive, can-do attitude is imperative!
The ideal candidate has at least two years experience in mountain bike service and sales. We’re prepared to train the right candidate but if you’re well versed in rebuilding suspension, doing frame-up builds, and diagnosing mystery creaks from bikes of all vintages, you’ve got a leg up on your competition. At Ranch Camp, we’ve got exceedingly high standards, so attention to detail is paramount. Your day to day responsibilities might include diagnosing mechanical issues, repairing bikes of all kinds, building bikes (custom bikes out-of-the-box builds), and bike sales. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers is a must.
In addition to a love of all things bike, candidates should have exceptional interpersonal skills, and be comfortable engaging the public in a positive way that promotes our mission to build community by providing an inclusive, supportive, and FUN environment! The ability to keep a cool head when things get hectic, and to shift gears quickly (we make lots of bike puns!) is key for this position, as is a willingness to work with our team to be as efficient and effective as possible.
This position is full time, year-round. Interviews and training can start as early as February and roll into full time by the start of April.
