Well it appears we dodged a bullet…mostly. Conditions from our initial assessment are a mix of perfect and slippery. Not a mandatory studs day by any means, but if you have them it’s not a bad idea to put them on.
In many places the trails are hard packed and grippy — essentially everything you want your fatbike trails to be. In some other spots the trail surface sucked up a ton of moisture so there are some slick spots but those are fairly easy to spot and seems to be the exception.
Needless to say, if you’re headed out just take it easy on your first lap and get your bearings before you give ‘er.
If you see any trees down or trail damage from the wind, you can let us know (firstname.lastname@example.org) or contact the Stowe Trails Partnership (email@example.com).
